![]() Itinerary:
3:00 pm - Headed out of the hotel and walked down to SOHO for some lunch. Had a quiet lunch at a pub on Old Compton Street (London's equivalent of the Castro). Matt tried to ask the waitress about the subtlies of tipping in London, managing to embarass the waitress in the process. It turned out that tipping in London is about the same as most other places in the world, about 15%. After lunch saw several stores that would need further attention later in the trip...
5:00 pm - Back to the hotel to work on the website. Just a quick 30 minutes to get the first day's page up, right?
6:30 pm - Finished uploading the website, decided to take a short nap until 9:30 to rest up for the evening's dancing.
9:30 pm - Slept through both alarms.
11:00 pm - Randy finally woke up and called Matt to wake him up. Some quick showering and changing was in order!
11:30 pm - Walked to the Covent Garden tube station to catch a train to Heaven.
12 midnight - Arrived at the line for Heaven. Heaven is a long standing dance club, well known in the Londan gay scene. After a 30 minute or so wait, we got inside. The club is in a converted railway station, the upstairs dance floor has the charicteristic arched ceiling. Both dance floors had great music, though the upstairs DJ was given higher marks by our travelers. The club had a very friendly atmosphere and lots of cute boys.

4:15 am - Took a cab over to Trade, an after hours club which was reported to have great music. Stood in line in the cold for about half an hour (made us feel like home, temperatures in the 40s at night!). The club is set up like a small labyrinth, with two dance floors and a small cafe connected by hallways and staircases.
7:30 am - Randy headed back to the hotel in a cab with a nice British boy named Wayne (see day 3 for details). The sun was unreasonably bright at that hour!
8:30 am - Matt headed back to the hotel, first in a cab, and then, after having the cab driver take him back to Trade to retrieve his forgotten jacket, he took the underground. Both travelers contacted each other at approximately 2pm to prepare for the following day's activities.
